Ironically, the noteworthy films in his repertoire have been those that dared to tackle an issue that hadn’t been explored on Hindi screens before: CHANDNI BAR and PAGE 3.
Madhur now peeps into the glitzy world of corporate identities in his new outing CORPORATE. Like CHANDNI BAR and PAGE 3, CORPORATE works for one solid reason: It brings to light the nitty-gritty of a world that most commoners never knew of. Battles fought in ostentatious and swanky offices aren’t known to the majority and it is this aspect that can be rightly termed as one of the USPs of the enterprise. But the real strength of the film lies in narrating a dynamic story. The best of ideas evaporate into thin air if entrusted to inept, inexperienced storytellers. Thankfully, Madhur narrates CORPORATE in the most simplistic fashion so that the common man can decipher the games corporate entities play to stay at the top. Besides, CORPORATE is as hard-hitting as CHANDNI BAR or PAGE 3. Beneath a strong storyline is an underlying message that makes you think.

In a nutshell, CORPORATE is an astounding successor to Madhur’s earlier achievements! Aristotle had once said, ‘The secret of business is to know something that nobody else knows.’ A century later, it could be rephrased as, ‘The secret of business is to know what the other person knows, and a little more.’ Welcome to the world of Corporates. A battlefield of power-hungry people. A world filled with deceit and corrupted minds. Where wealth, fame and success are fought over. And rules don’t exist. CORPORATE tells the story of two leading industrialists in the food sector, led by Vinay Sehgal [Rajat Kapoor], Managing Director of Sehgal Group of Industries and Dharmesh Marwah [Raj Babbar], Managing Director of Marwah International P. Ltd. Powerful, ambitious and relentless.

While there are many diligent people working for these companies, there is also Nishigandha [Bipasha Basu], a businesswoman with high aspirations and hunger to move to the top. She is at the centre of all the action. When the market opens up to international players, competition gets fierce. And the battle for supremacy begins. Moral codes are abandoned and ethics are forgotten as these two bitter rivals embark upon a deadly game of monopoly. Success and prestige take precedence over everything else. Good is no longer good enough. And people are driven to the brink of insanity. All in the name of business. If the war was just between two companies then their battles should’ve remained behind the scenes. Unfortunately, its implications have an impact on the common man.

This film peeps into the mindset of the powerful people and attempts to find out what makes them tick. It explores the nexus between the corporate world and the political and follows the trail of sex and corruption that hides behind a glittering and glassy exterior. The initial portions of CORPORATE and also the power games that the high and mighty indulge in may seem like Greek and Latin for the Hindustani junta. Madhur tries to be as real as possible while laying the cards on the table. Yet, there are several characters in the narrative that you identify with instantly. Like the scheming politician or the lecherous CEO of a company, who has sex on his mind all the time.

If you don’t gather a powerful impression of the first half, it doesn’t really come as a surprise, but Madhur reserves the best for the post-interval portions. It is in the second hour that CORPORATE does a somersault and turns into a story that the commoners can identify with. The twist in the tale -- when Bipasha is used as a pawn in the game -- sends a shiver down your spine. The razor-sharp developments thereafter, right till the climax, come as a shocker and open your eyes to a world that’s a complete sham. Directorially, Madhur Bhandarkar enters an alien territory yet again. Besides exposing the glitzy world of corporates, the film works primarily because the emotional twists and turns in the plot involve the common man. It’s in the post-interval portions that Madhur shows his competence, as a writer [screenplay: Madhur, Manoj Tyagi] first and as a storyteller subsequently. The impact the film makes from the pre-climax onwards proves that Madhur has only bettered the art of narrating a good story.

There’s not much scope for music [Shamir Tandon] in a subject like this, but the three tracks are quite tuneful. 'O Sikandar' and 'Lamha Lamha Zindagi Hai' are appropriate and only take the story forward. Cinematography [Mahesh Limaye] is of standard. The background score [Raju Singh] is in sync with the theme. Dialogues [Aje Monga, Manoj Tyagi] are sharp. The film has a plethora of characters, but the one who breathes life into her role and emerges trumps is Bipasha. She is competent in the first hour, but watch her take rapid strides as an actor in the second half, more so towards the finale. After Tabu [CHANDNI BAR], Raveena [SATTA] and Konkona [PAGE 3], Madhur taps the hitherto untapped potential of Bipasha this time around, making you realize that there’s more to Bipasha than just being a glam-doll.

Kay Kay too comes into form in the second hour, especially during the twist in the tale. The supremely talented actor exhibits his vast range yet again. Rajat Kapoor is excellent as the shrewd industrialist. Raj Babbar underplays his part beautifully. Harsh Chhaya is first-rate. Sandeep Mehta [as the lusty CEO] is an actor to watch. Vinay Apte is superb as the corrupt minister. Achint Kaur is dependable. Bharat Dabholkar does a fine job. Lillete Dubey deserved a better role. Minissha doesn’t get any scope. Sameer Dattani barely gets one scene, but is a silent spectator in the remaining three scenes. In fact, both Minisha and Sameer look completely forced in the screenplay. Payal Rohatgi is alright.

On the whole, CORPORATE works for its gripping drama towards the second half. At the box-office, the film is targeted at the metros and the multiplex audience in particular and has all it takes to keep its target audience completely satisfied. For the producers, the moderately-budgeted film has already proved a profitable proposition and for its distributors, the merits coupled with the open week will see the film growing from strength to strength thanks to a strong word of mouth.- Sify

Real life reporters for Corporate

Indian cinema is seeing a new trend now-a-days with News channels joining hands with forthcoming films for in-film promotions. Himesh Reshammiya, is here in Kollywood.
Himesh is Bollywood’s hottest music director and a craze with the youth. He has been signed by producer Oscar Ravichandran for his prestigious Kamal Hassan big budget film Dasavatharam to be directed by K.S.Ravikumar.

When A.R.Rahman walked out of Dasavatharam, Ravikumar was baffled as music is an integral part of his film. After weeks of hunting around, finally the choice zeroed in on Himesh Reshammiya, one of the busiest music composers in Bollywood today.

It was the song Just Chill.. from Maine Pyaar Kyon Kiya and the music score of Aashiq Banaya Aapne… that made Reshammiya hot with the generation next. It was followed by a string of hits like Garam Masala, 36 China Town, Gangster and last week’s Phir Hera Pheri.

It is a coup of sorts for Oscar Films to sign up Himesh who will be composing six songs for the film.[ Sify Movies ]

Recent Stories :

Superman can still fly!- Superman Review (Rediff )

Krrish Reviews

IIFA Awars - Dubai

Krrish - Reviews Hrithik makes Krrish work

This one is a Hrithik vehicle from start to finish. That Priyanka gets noticed at all is a coincidence because a heroine was necessary in a love story. But to call Krrish a mere love story would be an injustice...
The film is pure entertainment from the first instant. Rakesh Roshan, the director, allows himself the indulgence of a moral only after the love story is defined. Good vs evil is always an easy moral stance to take, and one which finds buyers [distributors] anytime anyplace. The Koi Mil Gaya story moves further and leaves the end open to move still further.

The masterstroke in this one was the return of Rohit, the supposedly dead hero of Koi Mil Gaya and father of Krrish. Roshan knows well the effect of an unexpected emotional reunion of this kind . And to give him his due, it worked. And the reasons for Rohit’s return too are plausible enough to not warrant ridicule.

Now to come to Hrithik. One can't say that the boy has grown as an actor because he hasn’t. He was a 200% actor right from Kaho Na Pyar Hai. And his forte is intensity, emotions as well as action, not to mention his dancing prowess, which is a given today. Now, if someday he starts singing his own songs, he’ll be an absolutely complete actor.

His good looks combined with an absolute sincerity of expression works so well that he has audiences charmed by him at once. The truth is - he isn’t faking the emotion either. He has obviously worked at feeling it and then expressing it. And the result is effective, to say the least.

This is the story of a superhero, who is first human and then a being with extraordinary powers that make him strangely vulnerable and invulnerable at the same time. He is invincible from attack but human enough to feel pain.. He is strong enough to confront pain but human enough to be hurt. The character Hrithik plays is so appealing and requires such ability to eke out that one must acknowledge the boy’s acting prowess once again.

True, it is his home production and true, his father has directed him, but Hrithik’s is a performance that requires chewing on. It isn’t a mechanical one. And he rises even above the incredible special effects of the film.

As for the rest, one wishes Rekha would decide whether she’s young or old. The long nails and the studied mannerisms, combined with the shaky voice and slow gait, make her something of a travesty.

Naseeruddin shah plays the calculating shrewd scientist with panache and Priyanka Chopra does a decent job as a complementary leading lady. The film is sure to become a rage with kids.

For the minuses - it seems too long at times and you’ve to shrug yourself out of somnolence. There is a feeling of repititiveness at times. This brings about ennui and a feeling of predictability. But that’s splitting hairs for little or no reason. The film is a must-see just for the fun of seeing Hrithik take on the corrupt powers single-handedly.

If cinema has the freedom to go beyond the believable, Krrish certainly does that and does it believable. It is to Hrithik’s credit that he plays an unbelievable character believably. Insiders in the trade circuit say that the film has the potential to be the biggest hit of Filmkraft yet. The first will be "Alag", to be followed quickly with "Krrish", the most awaited of them all. The last but not the least will be Hollywood's "Superman Returns" that has been dubbed in three Indian languages.

While relative newcomer Akshay Kapoor will be seen as Tejas Rastogi who emits a frequency that affects metal and electronic items in "Alag", the title for Bollywood's first indigenous Superman-style superhero will go to Hrithik Roshan in "Krrish".

"Krrish" can leap from skyscraper to skyscraper sans a web or a cape and while battling evil he can break into impeccable song and dance routines. Mil Gaya" that was considered Hindi cinema's first major science fiction film.

"Koi...Mil Gaya" had given Bollywood an E.T.-like alien called Jadoo who befriended a mentally challenged Rohit (Hrithik) and transformed him into a hero who beats bad boys, gets the girl and makes his mother (Rekha) very happy.

"Krrish" is the story of Rohit's son, Krishna, who possesses superpowers. Krishna is unaware of his abilities till he saves the life of a television reporter essayed by Priyanka Chopra.

Love blossoms between the two and he follows her to Singapore, where he encounters a psychotic inventor who murdered his parents and is now plotting to create a machine that can see the future.

Krishna becomes Krrish. Bachchan also gifted the pair to the director of the film, S. And sequels are rare in India. So if a dream merchant decides to make a sequel to an immensely popular laughathon, you fasten your seat belts and wait with bated breath for reels to unfold on the screen.

PHIR HERA PHERI is the sequel to HERA PHERI involving the famous trio -- Raju [Akshay Kumar], Shyam [Suneil Shetty] and Baburao [Paresh Rawal]. Only thing, the film has not been directed by Priyadarshan [who directed HERA PHERI], but Neeraj Vora, who has penned a number of Priyadarshan movies.

The question uppermost on everyone's lips is, Does PHIR HERA PHERI pale when compared to the predecessor? Or does it provide more laughs, gags and punches and lives up to the humungous expectations?

Before we answer the question on whether or not PHIR HERA PHERI works, let's get one thing straight. In keeping with the trend of laughathons that are the order of the day [NO ENTRY, GARAM MASALA, MALAMAAL WEEKLY et al], PHIR HERA PHERI also embarks on an identical route. Meaning, don't look for logic in the film, leave your thinking caps at home, never look for answers, rationale or reasons…

PHIR HERA PHERI doesn't promise to be different. It packs in ample laughs, illogical situations, rib-tickling sequences and witty one-liners in those 2.30 hours. In fact, writer-director Neeraj Vora borrows everything available on the shelf and comes up with a plot that may sound silly to a few, but nonetheless succeeds in its endeavor of making people laugh.

Comparisons with HERA PHERI are inevitable. However, since there has been a substantial gap between the two parts, PHIR HERA PHERI still stands out as a comic caper that's amusing and entertaining. Watch the frolics of the three buffoons [Raju, Shyam, Baburao] and how they goof up yet again and you'd agree, PHIR HERA PHERI is a sure-shot paisa-vasool entertainer!

HERA PHERI ended with the trio [Raju, Shyam, Baburao] receiving a hefty sum in the end. So what did the trio do with all the money? Did they live happily ever after? Or did they become greedy for more? PHIR HERA PHERI takes off from here… [ IndiaFm]

Madhuri Dixit to make a comeback?

If reports are to be believed, Madhuri Dixit will soon be making a comeback. The film in question is a Shaji Karun film, to be produced by Bobby Bedi. It is based on the celebrated painter Raja Ravi Verma and his muse Sugunabai. Interestingly, the story is borrowed from real life [Ipsita Roy Chakraverti].
The story revolves around three women: a nun [Sister Martha], a witch [Ipsita] and a girl in search of her mother [Claudia]. Martha, a 45-year-old withering woman, lives in a secluded convent in Kolkata. Even in the sanctuary of the Church, she is haunted by a spirit that threatens her sanity.

The witch, Ipsita, is called upon by the unconventional Mother Superior to heal Martha's soul. The task is difficult as Martha is uncomfortable talking about the events in her past. Using her skills as a healer, Ipsita gradually opens the door to Martha's story.

Claudia. A young Anglo-Indian girl, growing up with the angst of not knowing her mother, Maureen, alienated in her Indian surroundings by her blue eyes and blonde hair. The story goes back and forth as events from Claudia's life begin to intersect Martha's and Ipsita tries to sort out the tangled threads of the past and the present.

As far as the writing is concerned, SACRED EVIL is a pleasant change and a break from the monotony of the regular Hindi films. However, the subject is one that caters to a niche audience only. However, the fact cannot be denied that the narrative does not go off-track nor does it seem as if some sequences have been incorporated for the sake of it. Despite its slow pacing, SACRED EVIL has the knack to hold the interest of its viewer. It's definitely a fine effort by directors Abiyaan Rajhans and Abhigyan Jha. The performances are above average, with Sarika dominating the show.

On the whole, SACRED EVIL is worth a watch for its interesting theme and execution. However, at the box-office, the lack of promotion may make the effort go unnoticed. IndiaFm

Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy compose the Signature tune for Reliance Industries

Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy has composed the Corporate Identity for Reliance. After casting Abhishek in the title role in "Guru", there was a flurry of names considered and discarded for the other male lead - Saif Ali Khan, John Abraham, Viveik Oberoi and Madhavan to name a few.

Madhavan had, in fact, been a hotly speculated name since he's been a favourite of Ratnam from the time the actor did his first Tamil film "Alai Payuthe" with him.

"I'd happily do the part if Mani sir offered it to me," Madhavan had said when rumours of his inclusion in "Guru" first did the rounds.

Ratnam has ultimately gone to his old favourite Madhavan to play the desperately vacant parallel part. Actress Vidya Balan can sigh in relief because she finally has a leading man in the film.

Though Madhavan isn't allowed to talk about it, the deal was signed just before he sneaked off to London to lose weight since the role requires the actor to match strides and personality with the sprightly Abhishek.

Says a source close to both Mani and Madhavan: "Maddy (Madhavan) was over the moon when Mani sir finally asked him to do the role. In fact, Maddy was wondering why Mani sir was hunting around when 'ghar ka' hero was in front of him.

"Don't forget they have done neo-classics like "Alai Payuthe", "Kannathil Muthamittal" and the Tamil version of "Yuva" where Maddy played Abhishek's character. The two are almost like family. So it's no surprise if Maddy bailed Mani sir out."

Apparently the director gave his favourite hero a distress call. "Maddy didn't even want to hear the role. He immediately said yes," added the source.

A further incentive for doing the film is Abhishek - Madhavan and Abhishek are genuinely fond of each other. If Maddy played Abhishek's role in "Yuva", Abhishek was the original choice for the lead in "Saathiya" the Hindi remake of Mani Rathnam's "Alai Payuthe".

Incidentally, Sanjay Gupta has roped in Madhavan for another Hindi film.

Jessica Alba to host MTV Awards

Actress Jessica Alba of Fantastic Four fame is to be the fabulous host of 2006 MTV Movie Awards, later this month.

"I'm just kind of hanging out and this seemed like a great thing to do in the summer," explained Alba.

"I do a bunch of fun comedy sketches with my friends and host the show. The three are yet to be identified and traced.

A white powdery substance found from the place as well as bottles from which they consumed liquor were being examined by experts from the Central Forensic Sciences Laboratory, DCP (New Delhi range) Manish Agarwal said.

He said there was no evidence of any struggle or commotion at the 7, Safdarjang road residence on Thursday night. There was no injury mark on the bodies.

The three men, who stayed there for nearly 45 minutes, were apparently friends of Moitra, police sources said.

While Moitra was declared dead on arrival at the Apollo Hospital at around 0315 hrs, Rahul had a low respiratory rate, low blood pressure and low oxygen level, hospital medical superintendent Ritu Rawat told reporters.

Rahul was put on ventilator support at the intensive care unit of the hospital, she said. His condition was ''critical, but stable'', she said.

A post mortem of Vivek as well as reports of the blood tests on Rahul later in the day would help identify whether they had drug overdose or were poisoned, hospital and police sources said.

Police officials, however, said they suspected foul play and had initiated a probe in this direction.

DCP Agarwal said the ''scene of crime'' had changed by the time police was informed and arrived on the scene. The glasses had been washed and the liquor bottles returned to the fridge.

Rahul was scheduled to leave for Guwahati via Kolkata by air on Friday morning to immerse his late father's ashes in the Brahmaputra and offer prayers at the famous Kamakhya temple, the family source said.

A couple of days back, Rahul participated in the BJP executive meeting and it was speculated that he may join the party following his father's death.

Pramod Mahajan, who was the BJP's general secretary, passed away on May 3, 2006, after being shot at by his brother Pravin Mahajan. He succumbed to his injuries after a 12-day fight for survival at Mumbai's Hinduja hospital.- New Indian Express.

Ronaldinho’s hair auctioned

Two locks of Brazil star Ronaldinho’s hair were put up for auction by a Swiss newspaper on Wednesday to raise funds for a cancer charity. In fact, Aftab actually emerges as the culprit for the failed marriage, walking out on his wife and kid, smitten by a beauty queen who seems overtly possessive of him.

Ok coming To India !!

OK, one of Europe’s most popular magazines will soon be launching its Indian version. A vacation bench comprising Justice Arijit Pasayat and Justice LS Panta appealed to the agitating students to give up their strike since the apex court has decided to examine the entire issue.
The Bench while issuing notices to the concerned ministries asked them to explain the modalities to be adopted for the implementation of the policy. The court sought the response from the government on how it would deal with the matter and the basis for identifying the OBCs, besides the rationale for adoption of norms. The court granted eight weeks to the government to file counter-affidavit on implementation of the policy.
The court said it will examine the effect of the policy's implementation which the petitioner said will result in division of the country on the basis of caste. "These questions have serious social and political ramifications and this court will deal with it appropriately," it said. The court was hearing two petitions on the issue filed by Shiv Khera and another by advocate Ashok Kumar Thakur.

WestIndies Thrashed India !!

The West Indies gave captain Brian Lara a winning send-off in his final one-day international at his home ground in Trinidad, beating India by 19 runs. The win completed an impressive 4-1 series win over India.Lara made 36 before getting run out, but Chris Gayle (51), Ramnaresh Sarwan (52) and Dwayne Bravo (62 not out) ensured the West Indies reached 255-6.Virender Sehwag hit 95 but got little help as India lost six wickets for 66 and were all out for 236 off 48 overs.Opener Sehwag's 95 off 103 deliveries put his side in charge but an aggressive spell from Jerome Taylor swung the momentum back to the West Indies. He dismissed Sehwag, Mohammad Kaif and Suresh Raina in the space of four overs and Lara then turned to spinners Dave Mohammed and Chris Gayle to wrap up the last three wickets for just six runs. The Windies innings got off to the worse start imaginable, with opener Sewnarine Chattergoon finding himself bowled by Ajit Agarkar with his first ball.Lara hit Harbhajan for a straight six but was run out after slipping.Gayle hit 10 fours in 51 and other fifties from Sarwan and Bravo boosted the total.
Other Stories

Sachin needs a six-week wait: Doc

Dino, Celina, Koena in 'Anamika - The Untold Story'

After Aksar, director Ananth Narayan Mahadevan's next will be Anamika - The Untold Story, to be produced by Bhanwar Lal Sharma and Ramesh S. He is a happy-go-lucky guy who believes in enjoying life to the fullest, and not getting tied down to any place or anybody.

And then he meets Zooni.

Zooni, who makes him feel things he has never felt before. She touches the true Rehan, and that is the problem. He knows he cannot let Zooni know the whole truth about himself. This is the advice that Zooni Ali Beg (Kajol) a blind Kashmiri girl, receives from her father just as she is about to venture out into the world on her own for the very first time. Little does she know that these very words will shape her life!

Zooni meets Rehan Qadri (Aamir Khan), a local tour guide and an incorrigible flirt, who goes from city to city exploring their architecture as also the women. Is this really the right choice?

Rehan is fascinated by Zooni. He truly wants her to see life as it should be seen, in its many colors – and as he promises her, the time spent with him will be the most precious in all her life. But that's a tough comparison given that last year's numbers included the record-setting debut of Star Wars: Episode III.The film received mixed reviews and protesters picketed outside a number of theaters, upset over the story's suggestion that Jesus Christ was married and had a child. But the controversy did little to deter moviegoers, who packed theaters in almost every country the film debuted.

The animated film Over the Hedge had a strong showing with its $37.2 million as part of a counter-programming strategy from distributor Paramount Pictures. The Tom Cruise action film Mission: Impossible III crossed the $100 million mark in its third weekend with a total domestic box office take of $103 million.

Other Stories
1.Two movies on Daniel Pearl
2.'Hum Ko Diwan Kar Gaye' Going Strong In UK

Sachin needs a six-week wait: Doc

India's batting maestro Sachin Tendulkar will be out action for another six weeks , as he not fully recovered from shoulder injury doctors suggested him not play for another six weeks until he fully fit. This will open new chances for youngsters like Suresh Raina or Kaif to cement their place in the middle order.

Bappi Lahiri and AR Rahman team up

He recently completed recording the title track of Mani Ratnam's Guru, composed by none other than A.R.Rahman. In fact, they were all so well prepared that the recording was completed in a single night. Bappi da didn't want to talk too much about the lyrics of the song, at this stage. Perhaps Madhur Bhandarkar can get them their due credits as an interesting onscreen couple. Bhandarkar has signed up Ranvir Shorey and Konkana Sen Sharma together again for his next film Traffic Signal.Konkana will play the role of a prostitute in the film while Ranvir plays a junkie. This is for the first time that Konkana will be playing a prostitute in a film. Although it is just a four day cameo, Konkana feels that the role is extremely challenging. Besides the offer came from Madhur Bhandarkar who already directed her in the National Award winning Page 3, so there was no way she could turn it down, says Konkana. In addition to Konkana and Ranvir, the film Traffic Signal also stars Kunal Khemu and Neetu Chandra.

Related: Saif opts out of Qurbani remake , 36 China Town

Indian State Politics

Todays Hot News : Once again there will be change in Tamil Nadu government , DMK will going to form new Government , again Cheif Minister will be Karunanidhi ( for the fifth time). Saif was to play the role of Vinod Khanna in the remake.
According to sources, Saif apparently opted out of the film because of some date problems. Saif has dates only after May 2007, while Feroz Khan has planned to start the film this year itself. Fardeen Khan will be seen playing the part of Feroz Khan in the remake.

Besides it seems like Khan Senior just can’t resist the temptation of facing the camera. In normal course we do what may be called "shallow" breathing. The lungs are neither fully expanded nor contracted. Therefore the air flow in the lungs is restricted. Breathing exercises generally increase the volume of air flow providing more oxygen and removing carbon dioxide more efficiently.
In many breathing exercises you are told to hold your breath for some time. Depending upon the exercise you may be required to hold your breath either after inhaling, or after exhaling.
How does holding the breath help?
It is not possible to empty the lungs entirely; some amount of air will be there even after exhaling "fully". Normally there are some small pockets inside the lungs in which air tends to remain stagnant. Air inside those pockets does not join the main flow of air. It gets depleted in oxygen and fresh supply does not reach there. Blood coming in contact with air in those pockets does not get fresh oxygen and carbon dioxide is not removed from that part of blood.
When you inhale air and hold your breath in that position, the air drawn inside the lungs gets more chance of mixing with stale air in those pockets. As more time is made available for air mixing, stagnant stale air is removed and supply of fresh air goes inside those pockets. Similar action takes place when you exhale air out and hold your breath. There is reduced pressure inside the lungs which draws out the stale air. The overall effect of these actions is that entire surface of alveoli, or air sacs inside the lungs gets larger amount of fresh air.
In "Pranayam" as you continue regular practice you are expected to increase the duration of holding the breath as well as number of times you do the exercise. You should increase both, not one at the cost of the other.
Holding the breath also helps you to concentrate better. In many breathing exercises, I will again take example of "Pranayam", you are required to concentrate on breathing and visualize the flow of air. For example as you inhale, you may be asked to visualize that you are drawing in life-force or "Prana" along with fresh oxygen. While holding the breath you may be directed to visualize that "Prana" is getting absorbed in greater quantity. When you exhale you throw out toxins as well as bad thoughts and at the same time "Prana" gets distributed in the body. Visualization has remarkable influence on the effectiveness of breathing exercises.
When you are holding your breath it is difficult to think of anything except your breathing. To that extent it helps you in directing your concentration towards yourself.
The diaphragm, like any other body muscle also needs exercise. Breathing deeply and holding your breath provide exercise for the diaphragm.
I would strongly recommend that any breathing exercise, particularly "Pranayam", should be done under the guidance of trained persons only.
Any exercise will work better for you when you know how the exercise is helping you. Next time when you do breathing or any exercise, just be conscious of what is happening in your body and you will get better results for the same effort.

Yoga Positions for Beginners

The only way to keep up with the latest about Yoga Positions for Beginners is to constantly stay on the lookout for new information. In times of mental or physical stress, human beings have turned to the powers of meditation to quiet the mind and repair the body. There is a strong connection between the mind and the body, and when one is in pain, the other suffers also. Meditation can help establish a balance. Research has shown that meditation can have a beneficial impact on the health of an individual, and these positive effects are not limited to the body. When practiced regularly, it can greatly contribute to the health and well-being of not only the body but also the mind.
In today's fast-paced world, the use of meditation to relieve stress is common. In fact, as the practice of meditation gains in popularity, an increasing number of people from the jet-setting executive to the weary housewife are incorporating the exercise into their lives. In addition to using meditation to relieve stress, people practice it to combat the many concerns affecting the mind, and there is solid physiological evidence to support its success in doing so. With the regular exercise of meditation, you may experience some of the following positive effects: a decrease in anxiety, depression, irritability and moodiness, an increase in happiness and emotional stability, feelings of rejuvenation and vitality, and greater creativity. Many people have also reported a significant improvement in their ability to learn new things and retain information. You may find that with continued practice, meditation greatly improves your mental state and contributes to a profound sense of spirituality. The spiritual person often sees the world in a uniquely positive way and is well-equipped to handle life's challenges.
Though meditation is commonly known for its positive relation to a person's mind and spirituality, the practice can also have beneficial physical effects. Most likely, the first effect you will notice after repeated practice of meditation is an improvement in your flexibility which keeps your body responsive and functioning. There are other equally significant changes to your physical self that you might notice such as the following: improved air flow to the lungs making it easier to breath, a decreased level in blood pressure, lowered levels of cortisol and lactate (two chemicals associated with stress), a lower heart rate, reduction of free radicals which can cause tissue damage, and a drop in cholesterol. The regular practice of meditation can also slow down the aging process - especially noticeable in the elderly who often report major changes in their vitality.
Stress relief is not the only benefit you will experience with consistent practice of meditation. Meditation also has a profound effect on the mind and body by creating a balance that better prepares you to handle challenging situations. Meditation is easily exercised and requires little preparation or knowledge. To benefit your overall physical and mental health, take some time out for meditation and feel the power of a strong mind/body connection.

Sonia Gandhi did it again!

This time no Indians will be surprised. ( PART- I)

You go right ahead! Laugh and cackle to the point of losing your breath! Laughter has enormous amounts of health benefits ranging from affecting diabetes to lowering risks of heart attacks and everything in between!
In this modern world that we live in, full of medicinal remedies and medical breakthroughs, who would ever dream that something as simple as laughter could induce such amazing benefits to your health that could rival highly scientific compounds found in drugs of today?
The idea that laughter may have some serious benefits to our health may have been what spurned on many scientific research projects pertaining to the benefits of laughter on our bodies. Over the years, countless experiments have concluded with scientific data that laughter has one of the most astounding benefits for your health. We have heard about the positive impact animals and clowns have had on nursing home and terminally ill children. Scientists have taken that idea a step further. Experiments have been conducted on such things as type II Diabetes which is an increasing problem for many Americans today. A study done in Japan at the Foundation for Advancement of International Science, Bio-Laboratory, found that laughter helps regulate gene expression to help control type II Diabetes. This is a huge discovery. This means that laughter has such a homeopathic effect on even the gene expression on our DNA that perhaps if we were a happier sort the gene that causes type II Diabetes may possibly never be expressed. Granted, it will likely not take the place of insulin therapy, but it may be key in helping to prevent the disease.

<link rel='alternate' type='text/html' href='http://indiaupdated.blogspot.com/2006/03/its-no-joke-part-i.html' title='It's No Joke! As babies, parents put up gates to keep their child from falling down steps or getting into the wrong areas of the home. As they get older, they can easily climb over these. So, we begin teaching them what the word 'no' is. They learn good and bad. As they grow, though, the challenges to parents are even larger and more difficult than ever. Many parents struggle with safety when their child enters school. Here are some tips to help you with this very trying time.
* Teach them right from wrong. Many children will do what everyone else is doing, just because it is the thing to do. Yet, if they are taught from the beginning that it is okay to be different and they know just what they should and should not be doing, this will help them to make the right choices. It is also important for you to take the time to teach them why something is good or bad. Understanding why can help them make the right choices too.
* Make sure that they know that they can come to you with their problems. Most parents find that if they allow their child to be open with them about their problems, they are more likely to know when their child need their help.
* Teach your child what they need to know about things like drugs, alcohol, predators as well as other issues that elementary as well as teenagers are likely to encounter. In today's schools, all of them, they will encounter everything. You will want them to know what to do when it comes across their path.
Child safety is something that is very challenging as there just are not many ways to completely insure that nothing happens to your child. Yet, you can provide for them the knowledge and the escape route for when they do need help. Educating your children is the best way to protect them.

Beauty Care

Beauty care products are designed to provide the level of beauty an individual is seeking but with the care that is needed to maintain healthy skin and hair. Care products offer a wide range of benefits to those that are looking for them. Take the time to find a solution to the needs that you have and you will see results. This is what they will usually promise. Beauty care products are a wide range of chemicals and natural elements that combine to do something beneficial to the body.
Do They Work?
The big question is, though, do beauty products actually work to improve the skin or the body in any other way? The answer to this question is not as easy as you may have thought. In fact, those that are considering a product should take a good look at what they are offering and then determine if they are what is most beneficial to the individual. For example, those that are looking for wrinkle help often have a wide range of anti aging products to choose from. They should carefully consider what is in the products that may make them work.
In many beauty products there are natural elements that are beneficial to the body in general. For some of them, they are full of vitamins and minerals that have what are called antioxidants in them. Antioxidants are well known healers in the body. They can help the body in many ways including helping to improve the look and the feel of the skin. These are often used as topical ointments or supplements that the individual will take. Beauty products often have a wide range of vitamins and minerals in them to help them to provide results.
When using any beauty product, individuals need to insure that it will not cause an allergic reaction on their skin. To know this, they need to simply take the time to test the product. To do this, take a small amount of the product and apply to a concealed area. Only a small amount should be applied. It is often recommended that individuals wait a full 24 hours to insure that the product will not harm them.
Beauty care is hard work. With so many products offering benefits, so many more that do not work and the high cost of them, it is no wonder that people are often confused by which things that they should use and what they should not use. Taking the time to find the benefits to their needs is ideal.

Congratulate' Sachin And Dravid!!

Say Sachin and Dravid heartily congrats for their contribution to Indian Cricket.
